Scoping for Community Capacity Strategic Plan

Intermethod carried out ‘environmental scan’ (scoping) for Community Capacity Strategic Plan, which will provide guidance and context to council’s role in community capacity building across its community cohorts.

Study scope for this environmental scan was divided into seven following areas:

  • Learning, developing and leading
  • Volunteering
  • Engaging socially
  • Participating and deciding
  • Living comfortably
  • Accessing health services
  • Accessing support in crisis and emergencies.

For each of the seven areas above, Intermethod completed in-depth scoping, which included:

  • research and analysis of data and trends into social factors affecting the capacity of our communities to develop equitably
  • state and federal government policy directions
  • development of suggested areas/directions that the Community Capacity Strategic Plan should cover.

The study, including staff workshop and meetings, was delivered within a challenging four-week timescale.
