Murray Bridge: Sixth Street and Bridge Street Designs

In 2014 and 2015 Intermethod worked as part of a multi-disciplinary team on the designs of two streets in the Rural Council of Murray Bridge: Bridge Street (mainstreet in the town) and Sixth Street (a mixed-use side street in the town).

Intermethod’s work on the project included: development of design ideas and options, pedestrian traffic and staying activity surveys, evaluation of street options, research into precedent cases, site investigations, facilitation of workshops and community events.

Work with the traders and Councillors was an important element of the project. To share recent local experiences, Intermethod in conjunction with Jensen Planning and Design organised and conducted a case study bus tour that significantly developed local understanding of the potential impacts of the proposed designs.

Sixth Street construction was completed in 2017 and the project was unveiled by the dignitories representing three tiers of the government.
