The study was instigated in response to changing employment patterns and a general decline in the traditional employment base.
Social considerations and future employment trends were reviewed as part of the project. The Study sought to create a holistic vision and support a program of actions to further embed Council’s economic growth agenda.
Key tasks delivered by Intermethod included:
- detailed assessment of current land uses, including:
- vacancy rates, land capability, land utilisation, demand, employment land use capacity
- review of existing planning policies
- mapping of constraints and opportunities
- change site analysis
- development of the draft Study
- development of recommendations for each employment area
- series of reviews and amendments.
